Dining, wellness and experiences at Amanyangyun
Dining
Arva at Amanyangyun
Arva at Amanyangyun embraces cucina del raccolto, or 'harvest cuisine,' highlighting seasonal, Italian-inspired dishes crafted from the finest fresh produce. Rooted in the name Arva (meaning 'cultivated'), the menu evolves with the seasons, offering comforting and classic dishes that celebrate Italy’s culinary heritage with a modern, refined touch.
Lazhu
For those seeking a full immersion into the heritage of Amanyangyun, Lazhu, a phonetic reference to ‘spice’ in Chinese, serves a menu of dishes from the Eastern China province of Jiangxi, from which the resort’s forest of camphor trees and historic dwellings were rescued. Known for its innovative use of Chinese spices, fish and tea oil, and prepared using traditional cooking techniques, Jiangxi cuisine is distinguished by its fragrant flavours.
Lounge
Amanyangyun guests can head to the Lounge to while away the afternoon, sharing a freshly prepared high tea with loved ones or relaxing in front of the spectacular central fireplace with a drink from the extensive list of rare, spirits, fine wines, craft beers and classic and signature cocktails.
Yinlu
Named after the traditional pots that historically warmed Chinese homes, Yinlu is set in a bamboo grove with lakeside views of Amanyangyun’s magnificent camphor forest. Light-filled and convivial, with an elegant minimal aesthetic, Yinlu celebrates the Chinese culinary tradition of hot pot in Cantonese style. Meat, vegetables and seafood, including abalone, grouper and lobster, are cooked in steaming silver pots of broth that rest in the middle of each table.
Wellness
Amanyangyun Spa & Wellness Centre stands as one of Shanghai's premier destinations for rejuvenation and relaxation. Explore Amanyangyun's extensive Spa menu and immerse yourself in the therapeutic rituals available on-property.
Experiences
King Camphor Tree
Amanyangyun’s story began over 700 kilometres from Shanghai in rural Fuzhou, a region characterised by camphor forests and historic villages.
Cultural Centre
Named after the royal reading pavilion in the Forbidden City, Nan Shufang is the cultural heart of Amanyangyun. Dedicated to Chinese art forms and the pursuit of knowledge, it is a cultural centre housed within the most architecturally impressive antique buildings to have made the journey from Fuzhou. Enhanced with furniture crafted from the nanmu wood characteristic of Ming interiors, Nan Shufang is a modern-day recreation of the scholars’ studios of 17th-century China’s literati – a space to learn, contemplate and practise traditional crafts such as calligraphy, music or painting.
Family
A convivial meeting ground for children, Amanyangyun’s Children's Discovery Centre offers a host of experiences, each designed to help the resort’s younger guests unearth the rich culture of China. The centre, open from 9am to 5pm, welcomes children aged from five to 12 to enjoy a variety of activities – from Chinese lantern making, paper cutting, pottery moulding and tea ceremonies to Chinese shadow puppet shows. Children’s yoga and spa treatments can also be arranged upon request.
Bei TeaHouse
Just as much as spiritual destination as a place to enjoy this Chinese tradition, Bei TeaHouse rests just moments away from the resort, in the heart of the Yangyun community. A sanctuary for brewing and drinking tea, Bei TeaHouse’s flagship invites hotel guests to find balance, guided by one of China’s most popular rituals.
