Experiences
Swim with Whale Sharks
At least 99 whale sharks are known to inhabit the turquoise waters of Saleh Bay, the second largest population on earth. Located east of Moyo Island, their presence helped the area become a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. An up-close whale shark encounter, led by an expert guide from a local conservation group, is one of the most exhilarating experiences these southern seas can offer.
National Parks
Covering an area of just over 31,000 hectares (76,602 acres), Moyo Satonda National Park encompasses the islands of Moyo and Satonda as well as the pristine waters between them. Strengthening conservation efforts and enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the region, this newly designated national park complements neighbouring Tambora National Park, known for its historical and geological impact, as well as its rich biodiversity.
Adventures on Land
Home to the island’s protected deer, macaques and prolific birdlife, Moyo’s hilly tropical forests are crisscrossed by hiking paths and several mountain biking trails. These lead explorers to breathtaking viewpoints, secret waterfalls, tranquil forest glades in which to picnic and secluded beaches and coves along the coastline. Most routes start directly from camp.
Adventures in water
As rich and colourful as Moyo Island is above the waves, its offshore realm is possibly even more vibrant, offering an untouched seascape of pristine reefs ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Amanwana Bay, Moyo’s coastline and the Flores Sea also offer superb watersports, fishing and cruising opportunities.
Amanwana Dive Centre
Amanwana Bay is a pristine marine reserve with a variety of dive sites that are as remote as they are beautiful. Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Moyo Satonda National Park, the entire coastline of Moyo Island has been declared a marine conservation area, making it the perfect spot to observe marine life in a protected setting.

What Biirdee Does
A concierge travel agency: paid by the hotel, never by you
Biirdee Travel books luxury hotels through preferred-partner programs: you pay the same rate as booking direct, the partner benefits attach to your reservation, and a human concierge handles the details end to end.
Tell us the trip
Destination or property, rough dates, who’s traveling. The form takes two minutes and commits you to nothing.
A concierge replies within hours
A real person checks availability, compares properties honestly, and confirms the perks your stay qualifies for: upgrades, breakfast, and credits where available.
Book at the same rate as direct
The hotel pays our commission out of the rate you’d pay anyway, so the perks cost you nothing. Before and during the trip, one concierge on WhatsApp handles requests and changes.
